Man’s ultimate power was given to him by God. This power is that of the free will, the ability of man to choose and decide his course of action.
Choice
God placed a tree in the Garden of Eden and commanded Adam and Eve not to eat of it. In doing this God gave man a choice. Genesis 2,3
Obedience
Man’s original choice was to obey or disobey, he chose to disobey. Genesis 2,3
Every command of God is a choice. Once you’ve heard the command, you always choose to obey or disobey.
Made in The Likeness of God to Choose
Man was made in the likeness of God with the ability to choose.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deuteronomy 30:19
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15
God has given man the power, ability and freedom to accept and obey Him or reject and disobey Him.
